PWNED!
(I’ve always wanted to say that. And I promise never to do it again.)
Listen. Listen carefully around the internet. Can you hear it? It’s the sound of fandom exploding on itself.
In all my years on the internet. Of all my love of my “shows” and other things, I’ve never seen anything like this. It doesn’t compare to Dog Doggett debates, or shippers VERSUS noromos in XF; nothing like: OMGnoBombadil? Book rape!/Xena!Arwen in LotR…seriously people. This Harry Potter shit is fantastic.
[More HP talk below, skip if you feel so inclined; also: slight HBP spoilers]
I’m not involved in HP fandom really. I poke around now and again to find what people are saying and on the debate stuff? I just found it amusing. I pop my popcorn, make my tea and chuckle. In distant amusement I’d watch the fights and the theories trying to explain Sirus/Lupin (still don’t get that one), Harry/Hermione etc shipping all of which required more contortions, stretching and reaching than a performance of cirque de soleil.
Me? I was all, dude, she’s [JKR] sneaky, but when it comes to relationships it has to MAKE SENSE. Therefore I chose to follow the one that MADE SENSE. CRAZY I KNOW. So essentially I knew I was right all along (yay, Ron and Hermione!) and vindicated in this book…it wasn’t official, but it was close enough.
BUT it doesn’t end there.
It continued. The whine, whine, “THERE’S ONE BOOK LEFT for Harry to fall in love with her….It will happen!” (….riiiiight).
And then, the interview. Delusional is my favourite word. In sum, Jo finally shoots down what most beings in the universe has known…she says once and for all that Harry and Hermione will not happen. At that? The internet was set on fire. See here for hilarious fun (truly, I’m in tears from laughing so hard at points).
Now people are crying about Hermione being out of character, threatening JKR’s life (TOO FAR people), burning books, taking out an ad in the NY Times crying foul, extreme whinage about being called wrong and delusional (a term quite fitting, I admit)…
Oh how I laugh and I laugh. My stomach hurts, and I’m not kidding.
And I’m also quite smug. I mean, I don’t feel bad. I’ve seen wackjobs be seriously offended and hurt by all of this…and while I feel some pity for them, I can’t feel too sorry because they’ve devoted so much to a fictional couple in a book series. Come. On.
I suppose it’s not nearly as amusing to my regular people who come here, but trust me….FUNNY.
More on other stuff later, this was just too much for me at this point in time. (Which leaves little to reply to for my commenters…sorry :p).
<3 Kate. Seriously girl, I’ve been reading up on those good products and naturally stuff, it does it’s job! Plus it’s better for you to use too. And yeah, I could go back and be in school forever, but I’m drained and burned out from school now, so that’s not in the cards for this year at least.
Thanks for the encouragement though…I do appreciate it! <3
Blah blah, add more stuff here later.

Am I first? Am I really, really FIRST?! Yay!
Ahem, anyhow, my friend Laura, from college, runs Getting the Point and she’s been entertaining me for awhile now with comments and stuff from her LJ reading. Dude, people are stupid. I loved how the one person awhile back was all “But I watched the movies first, and so Harry and Hermione was just the natural pairing to make, and, and, and … FLAIL!”
I was highly amused. HP fandom is so entertaining now – and I don’t even know much of anything about the characters!
And, um, out of curiousity, how much VM have you seen? I don’t want to spoil you with iconage or whatever on LJ, so I’m just trying to keep tabs on you, and on everyone else on my Flist who’s watching/getting caught up. 09/21 is the S2 premeire in the US, yay! So I should be able to see the premeire by 9/22 – woo! o3

Ah cool. That’s a great site.
The comments and whining that people are doing these days is so spectacular and it TRULY IS ENTERTANING. I’m half embarrassed to admit I read the books, but I make myself feel better by not actually participating in the batshit craziness that consumes the overall fandom.
Good times.
I am up to *checks* episode 8? I was going good there for awhile,
I’m still navigating blindly around the web in regards to VM these days…at least until I’m done with watching the first season.
dlinggetting 1 or 2 episodes per day or so. But I think I’ve been spoiled anyway…by an icon from you maybe? Or someone else? But I don’t really mind, it’s just that particular….um, pairing in the icon surprised the heck outta me, given the way things are at this point in time for meOh! And I did kinda hear something about CBS carrying the show? At least a few of the episodes? It’d be GREAT if that were true, because I’d love to see it in “real time”.

CBS showed the pilot and 1×10 on Friday. They’ll be showing 1×12 this Friday, and then 1×15 *next* Friday. I may have spoiled you [sorry!], but I’ve been trying to avoid using my shippy icon for posting – leaving it just for commentage. But, yeah … Sorry about that. I hate people who characterize it as a “redemption arc” because – yeah, it’s more than that. But I’ll shush so I don’t spoil you too much.
I’d recommend checking out np_beginnings, which is supposed to be a spoiler-free discussion community. Except, I don’t think that there’s much discussion yet. But I do have links posted for each episode that contain recaps or transcripts or just general commentage that’s unspoilery. And there’s fanfic and icon links that are episode-specific as well. Just more fun stuff for you to check out if you have the time.
But, yeah, I totally adore this show. I preordered my DVD’s WEEKS ago! And, ya know, I still don’t own any season DVD sets. [that'll change by mid-October though!

God, I’m such a fangirl. But I love my Veronica Mars! [and my shirtless man oglage!]
